A report will be considered at the upcoming Council Meeting on 5 May 2015 on Council’s vision for redevelopment of the Mosman Civic Centre site. This follows public exhibition of the Council’s vision which occurred during February-March 2015. In short, the report notes that:
- There is a need to improve civic and community facilities on the Civic Centre site to meet Council’s current and future operational requirements.
- Redevelopment of the site is the best means of providing improvements.
- To fund the cost of development, the sale of some public land for residential/retail development would be required.
- A range of community views exist in support of, and in opposition to, redevelopment of the Civic Centre site.
An attachment to the report provides a detailed summary of the public exhibition which occurred, and community feedback received.
The report recommends that Council undertake more detailed consideration of development options for the site.
The agenda for the 5 May 2015 Council Meeting, containing the report and attachment, can now be viewed on Council’s website.
