Please note: The exhibition period for the Spit Junction Masterplan ended on 3 December 2013. Submissions have now closed and we will provide updates as available. We have received a number of submissions which you can view below. These submissions will be considered in the report to Council in 2014.

The Spit Junction Masterplan was prepared by a team of consultants, led by JBA Planning. The impetus for the project and the findings after the first round of community consultation was that Spit Junction had become rundown and needed renewal. The conclusion of the consultants, based on their analysis of the existing situation, is that the future role of Spit Junction could be a:

  • service centre providing local shops and offices for small local businesses
  • community hub with the major civic and community facilities in the Mosman LGA
  • residential origin with residents attracted to the amenity, services and public transport facilities
  • bus transit stop with high frequency services along the Sydney CBD to Northern Beaches’ route

The Masterplan for the Spit Junction area was on public exhibition from 3 October to 3 December 2013.  The Masterplan was made available at Council’s Civic Centre, at the Mosman Library and online.

Council has not adopted the Masterplan, nor has it endorsed it. The Masterplan presents a number of strategies and recommendations to achieve renewal at Spit Junction.

The Masterplan also proposes three options, based on the consultant’s view, for a financially feasible redevelopment of Council’s civic centre site. Two additional options have also been proposed and were exhibited in addition to the Masterplan during late 2013.
