Planning for Mosman’s Future

At the Council Meeting to be held on 4 June 2019, Council will consider a report (EP/20) which presents the draft Mosman Local Strategic Planning Statement to Council for endorsement for public exhibition.

The draft Statement identifies Council’s 20-year vision for land use planning in Mosman, setting out planning priorities and actions relating to housing, local centres, infrastructure and the environment that Council will undertake in the coming years to achieve its vision. A key priority for Council will be to maintain the high levels of environmental amenity, liveability and landscape quality that characterise Mosman.

All councils in NSW are required to prepare a local strategic planning statement for their area to meet new requirements under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, which include a shift in focus towards strategic planning.

The draft Mosman Local Strategic Planning Statement – once adopted by Council – will be placed on exhibition from late June for a period of 6 weeks.
