Draft Greater Sydney Region Plan + Transport Strategy released for public comment

On 22 October 2017, two important planning documents for Sydney’s future were released for public comment:

The draft Greater Sydney Region Plan supports the vision for a metropolis of three cities – Eastern, Central and Western – that will rebalance growth and deliver its benefits more equally and equitably to residents across Greater Sydney. Delivering a metropolis of three cities will be guided by 10 overarching directions, which provide interconnected infrastructure, productivity, liveability and sustainability benefits to all residents. The draft plan was released by the Greater Sydney Commission. More information is available at www.greater.sydney   The draft plan will be on public exhibition until 15 December 2017.

The draft Future Transport Strategy sets the 40 year vision, directions and outcomes framework for customer mobility in NSW, which will guide transport investment over the longer term. It will be delivered through a series of supporting plans. The draft strategy was released by the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Andrew Constance. Council will be reviewing the draft Greater Sydney Region Plan and draft Future Transport Strategy over the coming weeks.
