EP&A Regulation Review

The NSW Department of Planning and Environment has commenced a review of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 (the Regulation), and is welcoming feedback on a Review Issues Paper until 24 November 2017.

This Regulation supports the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (the Act) which provides the overarching framework for the NSW planning system, and itself has recently undergone review.

The Regulation contains key operational provisions for the NSW planning system such as requirements for planning proposals, procedures relating to development applications, the preparation of contributions plans, fees and charges, and so on.

The objectives of this review are to reduce complexity, improve efficiency, and establish a simpler, more modern and transparent planning system, building on proposed changes to the Act.

More information is available on the NSW Department of Planning website.
