Feedback on big ideas from workshops

Mar 20, 2012 Other

Two sucessful workshops were held last week with businesses, landowners and community members on ideas to breathe life back into Spit Junction. We received lots of great feedback which will inform development of a draft Masterplan for discussion during the next round of consultation.

Many great conversations were had at workshops. Issues such as traffic, parking, appropriate use of the civic centre, building heights and how to attract private investment into the area were discussed. The team’s idea to create a scramble crossing at the intersection of Spit and Military Roads was one that had broad interest and support. This proposal would be subject to State Government agreement.

If you were unable to attend workshops, don’t worry – you haven’t missed out on participating. The workshop presentation is available here (and you can also download the PDF, 10MB) and you can provide input, feedback and ideas on this website.

We will also be running around of workshops later on in the year, where we’ll come back to you and present the draft Masterplan. You’ll be given an opportunity to provide your feedback once again before the Masterplan is finalised. You’ll also find the “Planners in Pink” out and about at the Mosman Markets throughout the year.

Thank you to all of you who attended and participated in the workshops.

Q: If you attended either wokshop last week, what interesting issues were raised that you think the community need to talk about further?
